Colorado Cherry Company is Classic, and a Necessary Pit Stop When In the Rocky Mountain State

While I don’t live there anymore, I was born in Colorado. I spent a few months there before we moved away for a while, but I returned for kindergarten through second grade. Most of my memories of this time are based around starting school, my childhood best friend, spending time outdoors, or the Colorado Cherry Company.

A little over a year ago, my family and I just so happened to be back in the area. I made my parents show my fiance all of the important places from where I’d grown up, which was a lot of fun.

Our old house has been painted, my elementary school has a new mascot, but the same old Colorado Cherry Company shop we always used to stop at maintains its classic charm.

They say a picture’s worth a thousand words. Through my eyes, this is a look at the shelves that I could’ve spent hours pondering over as a child. You can see only a portion of the products that are truly on sale at the little shop, because they truly have everything you could ever want, cherry-related.

Beyond juices, jams, jellies, and ciders, you can find candies, syrups, snacks, and pies– including gluten free ones. Every time I go to a place like this, not knowing that they’ll have an option I can eat, learning that they do feels like a special treat just for me! We bought several of them, and they were life-changing for me. For context, my Celiac did not become active until after I had COVID in 2020, so as a kid, I ate the “normal” pies.

The company even has their own merchandise. In the picture below, you can see some adorable tote bags, which I found tempting before finding a t-shirt that said Colorado Cherry Company on its front. The shirt was the perfect souvenir for me, and I wear it regularly.

Every time I’m in Colorado– which is not as often as I like– I make sure to stop by this adorable mom and pop shop. After looking it up online, I learned that it is actually a fourth-generation family business, which charms me even further. My essential items from here are a pie and a pint of juice– both cherry, of course!

More than anything, I wish that I could bottle up the vibes that wrap their arms around you the second you walk in the front door. Try as I might, I’ve yet to find something similar in my new home state.

If you ever find yourself on the way to the Rockies, make sure to stop by one of the three locations of Colorado Cherry Company, and bring me back a cherry juice!
